Harte's Contracting Services

Construction Project Manager

Location: Phoenix Metro (East Valley based in Apache Junction, AZ)

Lead projects the right way, without chaos.

Are you the kind of leader who earns respect and clients' trust instantly? Tired of juggling projects for companies with no systems, no support, and no clear ownership? At Harte's Contracting, you'll run projects with autonomy, backed by an experienced, family-owned team, solid processes, and tools that help you lead instead of babysit.

We're a family-owned, faith-guided general contractor serving the Phoenix metro area for 14+ years. Our work spans residential remodels and new builds as well as select commercial and multi-family projects. With 30 to 40 in the field and a tight-knit office team, we operate like one big family; quarterly team events, open communication, and a culture built on trust, accountability, and doing right by clients and partners. Our Christian-based values guide how we lead, serve, and treat people, with integrity, humility, and excellence in everything we do. (We welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs; see our EEO statement below.)

As our Construction Project Manager, you own the project from contract to closeout. You'll control schedules, budgets, quality, and communication, keeping clients informed, subs aligned, and milestones on track. You'll be supported with JobTread and proven checklists so you can focus on leadership and results.

Responsibilities

  • Run residential and (occasionally) commercial projects end-to-end; from kickoff through punch and final walkthrough.
  • Build and maintain realistic schedules, track critical paths, and keep work flowing with minimal downtime.
  • Own the budget: create/maintain cost tracking, forecast variances, and drive profitable outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors and vendors, set expectations, hold them accountable, and resolve conflicts fast.
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners, commercial clients, architects, and the internal team; issue proactive updates.
  • Manage change orders, POs, and invoicing with speed and accuracy.
  • Conduct quality and safety walks; document progress with photos, notes, and punch lists.
  • Collaborate with Estimating and Field Leadership to hand off scopes, value-engineer solutions, and close gaps early.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 or more years of project management in residential construction (mixed residential/commercial a plus).
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time and on budget with happy clients and repeat-ready subs.
  • Strong planning, sequencing, and problem-solving skills; decisive under pressure.
  • Clear, professional communicator, equally confident with clients, subs, and executives.
  • Tech-comfortable (JobTread or similar PM platforms, spreadsheets, cloud docs).
  • Reliable transportation for site travel across the Phoenix metro; ability to walk/inspect active jobsites.

Benefits

  • Autonomy with support: real ownership plus systems that set you up to win.
  • Faith-guided, family-oriented culture with leaders who have your back.
  • Performance bonuses tied to results.
  • Private healthcare membership (direct-access physician program for office visits, basic labs, and prescription coordination).
  • Paid training and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Work-life balance: reasonable schedules and a team that respects family time.
